Hajime Tachibana / dad bb (CD)

Hajime Tachibana to release 'dad bb', his first new album in 13 years, on August 10th

Thirteen years after his 2013 USB album "MONACO," Hajime Tachibana is set to release "dad bb," his 10th solo album. The CD will feature special packaging in the form of a 7-inch single-sized jacket complete with a booklet.
During a 1981 tour of the U.S. with the B-52's and Plastics, Tachibana received lessons on irregular guitar tunings from Ricky Wilson. This work is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece that only the present-day Hajime Tachibana could create, centered around the guitar sound he inherited from Ricky.
The album also includes Kan Takagi's "Sleeper" and a 2026 version of Tachibana's own signature song, "Modern Things." The rich mastering was handled by Soichiro Nakamura (Peace Music), known for his work with Yura Yura Teikoku.
It is rock and roll, it is noise, and it is acoustic music. From Lou Reed to Tom Verlaine to Ricky Wilson, and now to Hajime Tachibana—the tradition of New York electric guitar is reborn in Tokyo, 2026.
