Wataru Takada's early masterpiece "FISHIN' ON SUNDAY," recorded in Los Angeles with Haruomi Hosono's full participation, and the 80s/90s masterpieces "Neko no Negoto" and "Wataru" will be released on limited edition vinyl with the latest remastering!

Starting with "FISHIN' ON SUNDAY," exactly 50 years after its release, followed by "Neko no Negoto" released in 1983, and "Wataru," which was released 10 years later and was his last original album, these three works will be reissued on limited edition vinyl for three consecutive months. This is the first time "Wataru" has been released on analog.
All three works feature the latest remastering by Soichiro Nakamura (Peace Music) and liner notes by Shinichi Ogawa (liner notes for "Wataru" were newly written for this reissue).

*If you order all three works simultaneously, delivery will be on July 22, 2026 (Wednesday), the release date of "Wataru." If you wish for individual deliveries, please place separate orders.

*We received a comment from Ren Takada regarding the analog release of the three works.

"Wataru's Wake"
Ren Takada

These are reissues of works spanning the 70s, 80s, and 90s, or perhaps a journey through time in bars: "FISHIN' ON SUNDAY," which was his first and only trip to the US and an epoch-making work with the participation of Haruomi Hosono and Van Dyke Parks; "Neko no Negoto," which has the strongest European (what was then called world music) flavor among all his career works; and "Wataru," a hidden masterpiece produced by Keiichi Suzuki that deserves reevaluation now. Furthermore, "Wataru" is being released on analog for the first time.
Each album (or rather, the life of the rare artist Wataru Takada himself) is full of legendary anecdotes that I cannot tell you here, and because of this, the lively studio atmosphere is vividly conveyed through the spaces in the recorded sounds.
And listening to each album again, I can glimpse Wataru Takada's shy smiling face, a man who deeply loved music from all over the world. On the colorful waves of sound, the words of many poets row their boats. In 2026, I would like to raise a toast to the beginning of the Age of Discovery for Wataru Takada.
I sincerely hope that these traces will reach you as grooves on a record.

TBV-0110 Wataru Takada "Wataru" (Released July 22, 2026)

Released in May 1993, this was his first original album in 10 years since "Neko no Negoto." Perhaps because of the increased number of young fans due to "Honto wa Minna," a CM song for House Stew, a re-recording of his representative song "Seikatsu no Gara" is also included. This is a work that clearly shows the world of Wataru Takada, recommended for beginners, and an ambitious masterpiece produced by Keiichi Suzuki with the participation of members of Moonriders and Hachimitsu Pie.
