LOLOET, an alternative ambient band featuring former Angerme member Ayaka Wada, will release their first album, "Kankyoon," on LP record on February 11, 2026.
LOLOET was formed in 2023 when vocalist Ayaka Wada, who had previously focused on pop music, encountered improvisation and experimental music during her studies in Paris. To achieve a freer musical expression, she formed the band with musicians in Tokyo.
After approximately two years of trial and error, this first album was completed with the theme of "Kankyoon" (circular resonance), which resonates through the interaction of each member, the audience, and the very space they inhabit.
It presents the full scope of LOLOET's journey since its formation, including the previously announced tracks "SŒUR" and "ELLE."
The album's tracks, like LOLOET's live performances where songs and improvisation seamlessly connect, develop with experimental ambient music at their core, blended with minimal beats, dub, and folky soundscapes.
This approach is influenced by Japanese Zen and rituals. While drawing from her experience studying in Paris and her art studies in graduate school (she expresses a desire for LOLOET to create music like Mark Rothko's paintings),
Vocalist Ayaka Wada's words, which emphasize the importance of her roots, transform at times into melody and at others into spoken word poetry, conveying an unadulterated message that addresses issues such as feminism, discrimination, and conflict.

This album, "Kankyoon," is music that is ultimately abstract yet somehow pop, a sound unlike anything else.

We have been performing live with a structure that is half improvisation and half composed songs. I believe LOLOET's individuality and expression lie in the sounds we create by recognizing each other's music, slowly matching and layering them.
This applies to both improvisation and songwriting.
The recorded songs are ones that emerged from our continuous improvisational performances, and they also reflect how we've developed our improvisational synchronization through playing songs.
Please enjoy our "Kankyoon" as sounds, individuals, and harmony expand, form a circle, and reverberate all around you.
