Rock'n'roll destined to be sung for the next 1,000 years, carved out by FRYING DUTCHMAN. The new album "Kamonohashi," featuring the modern-day Kyoto counting song "Kamo no Hashi," is released simultaneously on CD and LP!
Kyoto-based FRYING DUTCHMAN will release their new album "Kamonohashi" simultaneously on CD and LP on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. The core of this work, "Kamo no Hashi," is a modern-day Kyoto counting song that carries on the tradition of singing about the bridges spanning the Kamo River. This masterpiece, representing the culmination of the band's current 10-year lineup, is built on the concept of "rock 'n' roll to be sung for the next 1,000 years," connecting Kyoto's culture and the city's memories to the future!
In Kyoto, a city with over 1,200 years of history, the culture of counting songs like "Marutake-Ebisu" is still alive today. "Kamo no Hashi," included on "Kamonohashi," inherits this lineage while serving as a modern Kyoto counting song that tours the bridges across the Kamo River from south to north. It embodies the wish to preserve Kyoto's culture and scenery for 100, 200, and even 1,000 years to come, acting as an "amulet song" to be sung from person to person, walking through the city and remembering its landscapes.
The recording features a lineup of talented musicians led by Lee Tabasco, including Tetsuya Kajiwara (ex. THE BLUE HEARTS), Eiji Suzuki (Dachambo), Kazutoki Umezu, COTA, and Marron. The production, mixing, and mastering were handled by Makoto Kubota, and the album also includes an intense remix by Psykovsky. Comprising five tracks where rock, psychedelic, festival music, and folklore intersect, this ambitious work vividly fuses locally rooted culture with a contemporary sound.
Furthermore, the jacket art is provided by manga artist Tetsu-hide. Drawing inspiration from sessions with Lee Tabasco, he created an original piece using unique line art and a psychedelic worldview, powerfully expressing the world of the work visually as well. Carrying the culture and memories of Kyoto on a bed of rock 'n' roll to be sung into the future—a work full of the scale that only FRYING DUTCHMAN can deliver has been completed.
In addition, a crowdfunding campaign for this project will launch on July 26.

There was still unexplored musical territory in Japan. FRYING DUTCHMAN are the ones who have struck this massive gold mine. Riding a groove so thick it’s suffocating, the vocals unfold like laying a thick carpet across a room. The theme is an endless procession of bridges.
"Kamo no Hashi" is a hand-ball song that counts the bridges spanning Kyoto's Kamo River. As the song progresses, it gradually builds heat, luring the listener into a trance and carrying them away to a demon capital where monsters roam. Is this the return of the *Ahodara-kyo* or the *Deroren Saibun*?
There are other tracks as well: the gut-twisting dance tune "aho aho tensai," the "88 Boogie" where slide guitar and saxophone clash in raw, reckless courage, and "Chinpu na Uta," which seems to gather up all the tenderness in the world. The breadth and perfection of this album make you want to scream, "Where were you hiding such masterpieces?" It is an album that wrings out every ounce of power FRYING DUTCHMAN possesses. And the final track, "kamonohashi remix," is practically hazardous material. A masterpiece that requires extreme caution when handling.

【Profile】
FRYING DUTCHMAN
Formed in 2002 in Kyoto by leader Kota, with Ryota, LEE, and Asao. Bringing in Ran Noge as producer and percussionist, they released their 1st album, "I wanna go out." They have conducted tours with a global perspective, including Japan, Europe, Israel, India, Asia, and Taiwan. Their 2011 song "humanERROR" was shared across the globe, garnering support from not just rock fans but people from all walks of life, sparking a resonance of souls. They carried out the "humanERROR 1 Million Person Parade" across all 47 prefectures. With a total of about 70,000 participants, it became a massive movement with the song ringing out simultaneously across Japan and countries worldwide.
In 2012, they brought in Makoto Kubota as producer and released their 2nd album, "Chinpunkanpun." Blessed with many encounters across the country, they appeared at numerous large-scale festivals and parties such as "FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL," "RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL," "ARABAKI ROCK FEST.," and "SUNSET LIVE." Their gigs are legendary for the fact that even if it's raining or stormy, the skies always clear up once they start playing. At the "Goodbye Nuclear Power Plants 10 Million Person Action," they performed an enthusiastic set in front of a crowd of over 20,000 people at Yoyogi Park, joined by saxophonist Kazutoki Umezu, in front of a gathering of 170,000. They became the "eye of the storm" in the 2012 music scene.
Following the departure of original members by 2015, powerful rhythm section members Tetsuya Kajiwara (ex. THE BLUE HEARTS) and Eiji Suzuki (Dachambo) joined in 2016. Together with accordionist ryotaro and LEE, they accelerated activities as the reborn FRYING DUTCHMAN.
After the subsequent departure of ryotaro, they restarted as a trio consisting of:
LEE TABASCO (Vo/Gt)
Eiji Suzuki (Bass)
Tetsuya Kajiwara (Drums)
They are currently pushing forward toward the production of their long-awaited new album and tour.
