Released in 1987, Kanako Wada's early best-of selection album "Esquisse" is finally being reissued on analog LP. The album features a total of 9 iconic early tracks, including her debut song "Passing Through," "Natsu no Mirage," which remains popular as the ending theme for the TV anime *Kimagure Orange Road*, and the impressively smooth vocal track "Creation My Heart." The lyrics and music were provided by some of the most prominent figures in Japanese pop history, including Reiko Yukawa, Neko Oikawa, Kazuhiko Kato, Akira Inoue, Ryuichi Sakamoto, and Yasushi Akimoto. Packed with the sophisticated pop sound unique to the 1980s and her crystal-clear vocals, this album is a definitive collection that allows listeners to fully enjoy the charm of Kanako Wada, and is a masterpiece we are excited to share once again with a wide range of music fans.

【Kanako Wada Profile】
With an unconventional background in sculpture from the Tokyo University of the Arts, Kanako Wada made her major debut from Toshiba EMI in 1985, the same year she graduated. Following her debut, her overwhelming vocal ability and sophisticated appearance led her to release numerous drama theme songs and commercial jingles, in addition to insert songs for the hit anime *Kimagure Orange Road*. She has garnered enthusiastic support from anime and music fans not only in Japan but all over the world. After five years of intensive musical activity, she retired from the public eye, much to the regret of her fans.
In 2024, she held a miraculous comeback concert after a 35-year hiatus, which became a hot topic not only among long-time fans but also among listeners of the modern city-pop revival. In 2025, she held her first overseas performance in China, which sold out the same day. In April 2026, she held a solo concert in Taipei, Taiwan. Due to a crowd far exceeding expectations, it turned into a legendary performance that was suddenly converted to an all-standing show.
