Ayatake Ezaki "Whispers of Silence"
Ayatake Ezaki "Hajimari no Yoru" (Repress)
The second album from musician Ayatake Ezaki, "Whispers of Silence." Centered on silence and nostalgia, this work is a collection of 19 tracks—"music for one"—woven together as if descending into the artist's inner self. It was created during a three-day residency at a hall in the forests of Hokuto, Yamanashi, where an upright piano, a grand piano, and antique instruments—including a dulcitone over a century old, an organ, and a toy piano—were gathered. The recording captured not just the sound of the keys, but the three-dimensional resonance of the entire space, including the hum of synthesizers, birdsong, rustling wind, and the flickering of a kerosene stove. With recording and mixing by Yu Sasaki and mastering by Gen Tanabe, the soundscape maintains an analog warmth and tactile quality while quietly opening up to a contemporary sensibility.
Additionally, a repress of his sold-out first album "Hajimari no Yoru" has been confirmed. It will be released in limited quantities on Wednesday, July 15th, alongside this new work.
