FRYING DUTCHMAN carves out rock 'n' roll to be sung for the next 1000 years. The new album "Kamonohashi," featuring the modern-day Kyoto counting song "Kamonohashi," is released simultaneously on CD and LP!

Kyoto-based FRYING DUTCHMAN will release their new album "Kamonohashi" on CD and LP simultaneously on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. The album's core track, "Kamonohashi," is a modern take on the traditional Kyoto counting song, passing down the names of the bridges spanning the Kamo River. This masterpiece marks the culmination of their current 10-year lineup, upholding the concept of "rock 'n' roll to be sung for the next 1000 years," connecting Kyoto's culture and the city's memories to the future.

In Kyoto, with its history of over 1200 years, the tradition of counting songs, typified by "Marutake-Ebisu," remains alive. "Kamonohashi," included in the album, follows this lineage by creating a contemporary Kyoto counting song that travels from south to north along the bridges of the Kamo River. It is infused with the desire to preserve Kyoto's culture and scenery for 100, 200, and even 1000 years to come as an "amulet song" that walks the streets, remembers the landscape, and is passed from person to person.

The recording features talented musicians including Lee Tabasco, Tetsuya Kajiwara (ex. THE BLUE HEARTS), Eiji Suzuki (Dachambo), Tokihiro Umezu, COTA, and Marron. The production, mixing, and mastering were handled by Makoto Kubota, and it also includes an intense remix by Psykovsky. All five tracks, where rock, psychedelic, festival music, and folklore intersect, are ambitious works that vividly fuse locally rooted culture with modern sound.

Furthermore, the jacket art is by manga artist Tetsu Hide. Inspired by sessions with Lee Tabasco, he created the cover with original line drawings and a psychedelic worldview, powerfully expressing the world of the work from a visual perspective as well. Carrying Kyoto's culture and memories on rock 'n' roll to be sung into the future—a work filled with the scale unique to FRYING DUTCHMAN has been completed.

Additionally, a crowdfunding campaign for this project will begin on July 26.

There was still unexplored music in Japan. It is FRYING DUTCHMAN who has unearthed this massive gold mine. Riding on a groove so thick you could choke on it, they sing as if laying down a thick carpet across the room. The theme? A journey through bridges.
"Kamonohashi" is a temari (handball) song that counts the bridges over the Kamo River in Kyoto. As you sing along, the heat gradually rises, luring the listener into an ecstasy and whisking them away to a demon city where spirits roam. Is this the revival of the Aodarakyo, or the Deroren saibun?
There is also the gut-wrenching dance tune "aho aho tensai," "88 Boogie" where slide guitar and sax clash in raw reckless bravery, and "Chinpu na Uta," which seems to gather all the kindness in the world. The range and level of perfection make you want to scream, "Where were you hiding such masterpieces?" This is a record that squeezes out every last bit of FRYING DUTCHMAN's power. And the final track, "kamonohashi remix," is now officially hazardous material. A masterpiece that requires careful handling.

【Profile】
FRYING DUTCHMAN
Formed in 2002 in Kyoto by leader Kota, along with Ryota, LEE, and Asao. With Mr. Ran Noge joining as producer and percussionist, they released their first album "I wanna go out." They have toured with a global vision including Japan, Europe, Israel, India, Asia, and Taiwan. The 2011 song "humanERROR" was shared worldwide, earning support from all categories of people, not just rock fans, and sparking a resonance of souls. They carried out the "humanERROR 1 Million People Parade" across 47 prefectures. With a total of about 70,000 participants, it became a major movement with the song ringing out simultaneously across Japan and the world.
In 2012, with Makoto Kubota as producer, they released their second album "Chinpunkanpun." Blessed with many encounters across the country, they performed at numerous large festivals and parties such as "FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL," "RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL," "ARABAKI ROCK FEST.," and "SUNSET LIVE." Their gigs have a reputation for bringing sunshine the moment they start playing, regardless of rain or storms. At the "Sayonara Genpatsu 10 Million People Action," they performed a heated stage before a crowd of over 20,000 people at Yoyogi Park, which had gathered 170,000, joined by saxophonist Tokihiro Umezu. They became the "eye of the typhoon" in the 2012 music scene.
After the departure of original members by 2015, powerful rhythm section members Tetsuya Kajiwara (ex. THE BLUE HEARTS) and Eiji Suzuki (Dachambo) joined in 2016. Along with accordionist ryotaro and LEE, they accelerated their activities as the new FRYING DUTCHMAN.
After the subsequent departure of ryotaro, they restarted as a trio consisting of:
LEE TABASCO (Vo/Gt)
Eiji Suzuki (Bass)
Tetsuya Kajiwara (Drums)
They are currently pushing forward toward the production of their long-awaited new album and tour.
Rock’n roll.
