【RELEASE INFO】LOLOET, a group featuring Ayaka Wada, released their first full-length album, "Kankyouon," digitally today

LOLOET, the alternative ambient band featuring Ayaka Wada, released their first full album "Kankyo-ON" digitally today, January 14, 2026.

This album, which begins with a French recitation by vocalist Ayaka Wada, comprises a total of 12 tracks. It includes "SŒUR" and "ELLE," previously released on cassette tape and 7-inch record, as well as "La fête" and "Forêt," which were pre-released and played on numerous playlists.

Other tracks vary widely, from familiar live performance songs to instrumental ambient pieces. The album embodies Wada's initial desire when forming the band to create something with musical catharsis, while embracing elements of ambient, spoken word, minimal, and post-rock, and striving for a more experimental and abstract direction.

Additionally, the album will be released as an LP record by Tuff Beats on February 11.
On Friday, February 27, LOLOET will hold their first solo concert, "Ume Kaoru Koro," at Shibuya WWW. Admission is half-price for those under 30 and free for students. We encourage you to attend LOLOET's live performance, which creates a unique atmosphere through improvisation and songs, involving the audience in that moment.

○Ayaka Wada (LOLOET vo.) Comment
Happy New Year.
The New Year is truly wonderful. Even the cold, which would normally feel painful, feels refreshing at the start of a new year.
Our album was released early in this new year.
As the lyricist, I have a message I want to convey to everyone, so please allow me to write a little.

In February 2022, at the same time I embarked on my journey to France, the invasion of Ukraine began in the international community. Conflict erupted in a neighboring land.
While I was in France, news of a potential conflict in Taiwan also emerged.
Looking at Asia from Europe, Europe from Asia, Asia from Japan, and Japan from Asia, I had the opportunity to re-evaluate Japan, where I was born and raised, from various perspectives, and to consider the stance I should take.
Watching programs seriously discussing a conflict predicted to occur more than 10 hours away by direct flight from Paris, I wondered if it was a personal matter or someone else's. This feeling remained even after returning to Japan. We are constantly warned of emergencies from a safe distance, but people still live their daily lives in those places.
It remains unclear whether these reports accurately reflect the fundamental issues on the ground.
Nevertheless, when I commute by train in Tokyo, I sometimes find myself trapped in the reality of daily life, work, and the outdated values of society.
In a busy daily life, it felt natural to lose the strength to oppose war and discrimination.
However, it is also true that the phrase "it can't be helped" solves nothing.
So, I subtly left a message for this society within the free and gentle sounds.
In this album, I wished for all people to be liberated from their daily roles and to be blessed, in addition to opposing war and discrimination.

Although I am writing this release comment in Japanese, I believe that the sounds and words included in this album can transcend location and the listener's perspective.
You can interpret it however you like, or not at all, but in sound, everyone can freely surrender themselves; that is our music and our space.

<Profile>
In 2023, Ayaka Wada, formerly a Japanese idol, formed LOLOET with Tokyo musicians while studying abroad in Paris, seeking freer musical expression.

After field recordings in Paris and studio work in Tokyo, they released their first song "SŒUR" in October 2023. Subsequently, after Wada's return to Japan in March 2024, they released "une petite pensée" on cassette tape and digitally via their independent label.

Furthermore, in May 2025, they released the single "ELLE" on analog record through Tuff Beats. With the theme of "Kankyo-ON" (resonant sound), which circulates and echoes in interaction, they incorporate ambient drone, DUB, experimental music, environmental music, and improvisation influenced by Zen and rituals, pursuing an alternative musicality. They are active not only in live houses but also in various venues such as bookstores, art museums, and art spaces.
