In Okinawa, where ancestor worship is highly valued, youth groups across the country perform Eisa dances, welcoming their ancestors on July 13th of the lunar calendar and sending them off on the 15th. \u003cbr\u003eThe two songs performed this time are big tunes that have become established as standard songs in the Eisa scene. \"Kudaka Sunsami\" (original title: \"Kudaka Manjushu Festival\") is\u003cbr\u003e The song sings about gossip about Kudaka Manjushu, a man who is always the subject of much discussion, and gets the crowd excited with the lyrics \"Kuyuinu hanashinu umussa (=Tonight's story is interesting).\"\u003cbr\u003e The singer-sanshin is Taku Oshiro, a folk singer who was trained by his teacher Misako Oshiro.
