Release Announcement: YaneUra Sept. '80 – A Rediscovered Live Performance by Les Rallizes Dénudés

The recently announced MARS STUDIO - The First Session - was initially identified as a studio recording based on verification from former members and other related personnel. However, a new perspective emerged, suggesting that the recording might actually be from a live performance at Shibuya Yaneura on September 11, 1980.

Upon further investigation, it was confirmed that the recording indeed captures a live performance from that night, rather than a studio session. The tape, left behind by Takashi Mizutani, presents a sound image so pristine and intimate that it almost feels like a studio live session, completely devoid of an audience’s presence. However, this only adds to its historical significance and listening value.

To align with this discovery, the album will be retitled YaneUra Sept. '80, serving as a counterpart to the previously released YaneUra Oct. '80.

Shibuya Yaneura, September 11, 1980 – A Fiery Performance Reborn!
On this legendary night, Les Rallizes Dénudés, featuring Fujio Yamaguchi, delivered an explosive and electrifying live performance, now resurrected in stunning clarity.

During the production of YaneUra Oct. '80, a previously unknown tape left behind by Takashi Mizutani surfaced, leading to a deep reassessment of all available recordings from the Fujio era of Les Rallizes Dénudés. The tape, initially labeled Unknown due to missing recording details, unmistakably features the dual guitars of Mizutani and Yamaguchi.

The sound quality was so studio-like that multiple former members and insiders initially believed it to be an unreleased studio session. However, after careful analysis, it was ultimately confirmed to be a direct mixdown of the live performance at Shibuya Yaneura on September 11, 1980.

This recording captures an entirely different energy compared to YaneUra Oct. '80, which was recorded just one month later. It preserves a raw, fleeting moment of explosive intensity from the brief yet legendary Fujio era, a period that lasted just over six months.
