Released in May 2023, musician Ayatake Ezaki's debut album, "Hajimari no Yoru," takes inspiration from Junichiro Tanizaki's classic work "In Praise of Shadows," which celebrates Japanese aesthetics and sensibilities from an era before electric lights. The album conceptually explores the interplay of shadows and light from dusk until dawn, creating a musical portrait of one night.

More than a year after its initial release, this marks Ezaki's first solo work to be available on vinyl. The album features Ezaki's compositions and muted piano performances, complemented by a diverse array of talented artists including Sweet William, Mami Kakudo, Kai Matsumaru, Ryoji Arai, Aoi Teshima, Mei Ehara, and Kenji Kihara.

Together, they weave a 36-minute tapestry of enchanting soundscapes, blending piano solos, beat music, lullabies, jazz, children's songs, ambient, and post-classical elements, creating an album rich in variety and emotional depth.
