[Description]
Woodstock, New Orleans, and Cajun: a musical pilgrimage led by Makoto Kubota. This masterpiece album from the year 2000, featuring Levon Helm and Garth Hudson, is finally being released on vinyl.
Since his solo debut album Machibouke in 1973, released just one year after his unit "Harry & Mac" with Haruomi Hosono, ON THE BORDER has now been beautifully pressed onto vinyl.
Recorded during a journey in 2000 to Woodstock, New Orleans, and Cajun, this album by the original traveler Makoto Kubota weaves the sounds of the local areas into a road movie-like experience, blending swamp and country sounds. Heavyweights of American rock, such as Garth Hudson, Levon Helm, and John Sebastian, who also participated in Harry & Mac's Road to Louisiana, came together on this project.
With Kubota Makoto's expansive vocals which seem to lift the listener to celestial heights,
and the splendid sounds of instruments, remastered by himself, this long-awaited reissue
promises to bring you an exhilarating experience.
*Due to the time constraints of vinyl, the three tracks "Blessing", "Oaxaca", and "Rain On The Border" which are included in the CD/digital release, have been omitted from this edition.
