SSW Miran, gaining momentum accelerating with actor debuts and theme songs for movies, announces the long-awaited LP release of WATASHIBOSHI, previously released on CD and digital at the end of last year!
The latest EP, WE'LL DIE THIS WAY focuses on the theme of "parting," featuring six tracks filled with Miran's refined rap and vocals from the past year. The EP includes a collaboration with emerging hip-hop scene rapper Bonbero.
Having taken on the theme song for the movie Ai na no ni produced by Keiichi Sokabe (Sunny Day Service) and subsequently releasing the 7-inch Tenshi no Kiss which sold out immediately, Miran made her debut as a main cast member in the movie Chikyuu no Hen na Koibito released in January 2024. She also provided both the theme song and insert song for the film, further propelling her career. The LP edition of WATASHIBOSHI is now available in color vinyl format.
This album, WATASHIBOSHI, includes a collection of singles previously released on digital platforms, as well as the dazzling pop tune "Koi wo Shite," which also serves as the theme song for the movie Chikyuu no Hen na Koibito, winning the "Future of Asia" award at the Tokyo International Film Festival since January 2024. Other highlights include the heartfelt medium-tempo number "Umi ni naru" and the much-talked-about single Tenshi no Kiss.
For this album, Miran welcomes Yosuke Kume (Special Favorite Music) as the overall producer, with Yuuto Sawai (Nekosen) on bass, Tokuto Doi (Special Favorite Music, DENIMS) on keyboards, Yuusuke Okada (BROTHER SUN SISTER MOON) on drums, and Yoichiro Tanaka (Munononomoses) on bass. The track "Motto Futari," which was also featured as an insert song in the aforementioned movie (Chikyuu no Hen na Koibito) features Kazuo Bonmaru (Bellmains).
Additionally, "Lemon no Ki", a magnificent ballad released last year, features violinist Tsugumi Yasuda, known for her work with Homecomings and other projects. Another standout is the ambitious work "Suki na You ni", which reinterprets the sounds of old-school doo-wop and the Niagara Sound, featuring Katsuya Shinjo (Special Favorite Music).
The illustration/sculpture artist Daisuke Kondo and the up-and-coming designer Yuka Tada create the impressive artwork for the album.
