This release features collaborations with artists such as Carlos Santana, Bonnie Raitt, Charlie Musselwhite, Canned Heat, Los Lobos, and George Thorogood.
Hooker, at the age of 73 upon the release of The Healer, won the Best Traditional Blues Performance Grammy® for his collaboration "I'm In The Mood" with Bonnie Raitt, marking his first work to later receive the honor of a Grammy® award.
