The vocalist, Atsuko Hiyajo, made her debut as a singer-songwriter in 1997, incorporating city pop and Brazilian music influences to create her unique musical world. Despite moving her base to Okinawa, her artistic stance remains unchanged, making her decision to explore Okinawan folk songs and children's songs a surprising choice for her fans.
Yuuko Sato, known for her jazz background, is on piano. Originally from Fukuoka, she has continued to perform in Okinawa's live houses and gained the trust of many jazz musicians. While she previously released a serene duo album titled “Jouya” (2011) with folk singer Yukito Shinra, the combination of Okinawan folk songs and piano is not commonly encountered.

Together, these "outsiders" take on well-known standards such as "Asadoya Yunta" and "Tinsagu nu Hana," as well as diverse tracks ranging from the somewhat comical "Jinjin" to the lullaby "Itta Anma Ma Kaigai." While some chorus overdubbing is present, the focus remains solely on vocals and piano, with no sounds of traditional Okinawan instruments like the sanshin or drums, nor the characteristic rhythms. This deliberate simplicity serves to accentuate the lyrics and melodies, occasionally evoking moments reminiscent of gospel or blues.

This level of refined simplicity in Okinawan music is unprecedented, showcasing a sense of longing for Okinawa that rivals even the most authentic renditions. In this sense, it's an ambitious work that delves into the essence of Okinawan music, representing a true "RYUKYU STANDARD" rather than being merely "unconventional" or from "outsiders".
